For the first time in the history of the Japanese Grand Prix, the event is not taking place in autumn.

Suzuka is hosting the fourth round of the record-breaking 2024 campaign during cherry blossom season, adding to what is already a fabulous backdrop at the driver favourite venue.

Max Verstappen was the driver to beat in first practice earlier on today but Ferrari and Mercedes both looked competitive.
