The first points of the Qatar Grand Prix weekend will be handed out at the end of the sprint race, which takes place on Saturday evening in Qatar.
Lando Norris will start the race from pole position and has George Russell alongside him on the front row.
Both drivers, as well as Oscar Piastri in third place, are aiming for just their second career sprint victories.
Max Verstappen takes the start from sixth on the grid behind the Ferrari duo of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, who have their sights set on McLaren ahead amid a tight constructors' battle.
There is also set to be an intriguing battle for the final point on offer in eighth as drivers from Alpine, Haas and RB, who are all vying for P6 in the standings, are in contention.
