Lewis Hamilton was the driver to beat in the opening practice session of the 2024 F1 Monaco Grand Prix. 

It was a very positive start for Mercedes, whilst McLaren and Ferrari also looked very competitive. Red Bull had neither driver in the top 10, but opted against using the soft compound. 

With a large threat of rain for second practice, will first practice end up being the only completely dry session of the day?
