Fernando Alonso was the driver to beat on the opening day of the 2024 F1 Canadian Grand Prix, although no real dry or wet running was completed.
Only a handful of laps on the soft compound on a semi-dry track were completed by the 20 drivers, due to a storm ahead of first practice and rain during second practice.
It puts a lot of pressure on third practice to gather as much data as possible, with the drivers likely wanting the session to be either completely dry or entirely wet.
Max Verstappen will also be wanting plenty of track time, following an ERS issue in second practice.
