Liam Lawson insists there is "no reason" why his and Racing Bulls' impressive form cannot continue, as the F1 season heads towards the summer break.

The New Zealander scored a sixth-place finish at the British Grand Prix, taking the chequered flag ahead of team-mate Arvid Lindblad in seventh.

The result at Silverstone means the Faenza-based squad has cut its deficit to Alpine in the constructors' standings from 13 points at the start of the weekend to just one point in the fight for fifth; Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly finished ninth and tenth, respectively, picking up three points for Team Enstone.

Reflecting on another strong weekend, Lawson shared how his VCARB 03 "came alive" during the second half of stints.

"It's been a good day," the 24-year-old told Sky Sports F1. "We had not a very good start, but a really good first lap here, with the way the energy is.

"Even on the first lap, you can make up quite a few positions.

And then the car was just really good, especially in the second half of the stint for us; it really came alive, so pretty happy."

Now on 39 points for the season, just three behind Gasly in ninth, the result is Lawson's fifth consecutive points-paying finish, with four of those instead the top eight.

The start of that run coincided with Racing Bulls delivering considerable developments to its car in Montreal, which is quickly paying dividends, with Lawson highlighting how the package is improving week on week.

"The big test was going to Barcelona and testing the high-speed balance, because we hadn't had that from when we brought this big upgrade to Canada, and it's been really, really good," he explained.

"It's just getting better every weekend. Things are very strong. Obviously, some tough tracks coming up, but there's no reason why it shouldn't be strong there as well."
