Liam Lawson opens up on Arvid Lindblad relationship progression

Liam Lawson has opened up on the progress being made in his relationship with new Racing Bulls teammate Arvid Lindblad, which he deems to be going "really well."

Lindblad was promoted from the Red Bull Junior Team to partner Lawson for the 2026 F1 season, following the arrival of the new power unit regulations, taking Isack Hadjar's spot after his move to Red Bull.

Both drivers have made strong starts to the season, with the Faenza-based outfit proving to have one of the strongest midfield packages.

From the opening three rounds, Lawson has scored 12 points, while Lindblad sits on four. As a result, Racing Bulls sit seventh in the constructors' standings, just four points behind Red Bull.

Not only have both Lawson and Lindblad scored points, but the two drivers have also made Q3 appearances, giving the team much to be confident about when F1 returns next month in Miami.

While new teammates, Lawson and Lindblad have known each other for several years, having both been part of the Red Bull Junior Programme, catching the New Zealander off guard at just how fast time has flown by.

Asked how quickly he and Lindblad have formed a strong relationship, Lawson explained to select media, including RacingNews365: "Things happen so quickly, especially in the last couple of years.

"I was just home, and I was seeing some high school friends that I hadn't seen in quite a few years, and I realised I hadn't seen them in, like, nine years, which is just insane.

"So yeah, obviously things move very quickly, and coming into this year with these new regulations, a lot is on us working together, trying to communicate well and deliver what we need to the team to build on these regulations.

"And I think so far, honestly, it's been pretty seamless and smooth, and it's gone really, really well. I think Arvid's done a good job coming in in year one to be able to do that."
