Liam Lawson experienced a difficult first full-time F1 season in 2025, getting demoted by Red Bull just two rounds into the campaign.
That, however, may have just about saved his career in the championship, with Yuki Tsunoda, the man who replaced him alongside Max Verstappen, now consigned to at least a year on the sidelines.
The New Zealander was able to build himself back up, eventually doing enough at Racing Bulls, but now he must prove his staying power, with rookie Arvid Lindblad partnering him at the Faenza-based squad.
Nonetheless, the 23-year-old has been backed by F1 fans to be the driver who makes the biggest step in performance in his second full year in the series in a recent poll by RacingNews365.
Beating the highly-touted Kimi Antonelli, almost 40% of respondents voted for Lawson to be the driver to take the biggest leap in their sophomore season.
