Liam Lawson believes a hybrid of the Red Bull RB22 and the Racing Bulls VCARB03 would produce a formidable package, after experiencing both machines during his unscheduled three-race recall to the senior F1 team this season.
Lawson stepped in for an injured Isack Hadjar after the summer break before returning to his regular Racing Bulls seat, giving him a rare back-to-back comparison of the two Red Bull-Ford-powered cars.
Speaking to media, including RacingNews365, ahead of this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix, Lawson detailed just how different the two cars feel to drive, despite sharing the same power unit.
Asked about the main differences, he replied: "Other than the power unit, pretty much everything. Honestly, it's very, very different to drive.
"So it was definitely a little bit of an adjustment to go back, but then the car is different. Just the way the steering, for example, is a bit more personal to me in my car.
"It was an adjustment for sure, but there are honestly strengths and weaknesses to both. To be honest, it's quite interesting to drive both, and you could honestly argue that if you put them together, you'd have a pretty fast race car."

Lawson - 'Singapore is a sick track'
For this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix, Lawson returns to a track where he scored his first points in F1 by finishing ninth in 2023 whilst driving for AlphaTauri.
The New Zealander has conceded to being a fan of the Marina Bay Street Circuit, and is hoping Racing Bulls' recent fast starts to a weekend will lend itself to the fact that there is sprint qualifying on Friday evening rather than a second practice session.
"It's a really good track," said Lawson. "With sprint weekends, you get two shots at everything, so I'm excited.
"Recently, we've started the weekends quite strong, and then I feel like everybody else caught up, so some of that gets taken away.
"Obviously, hopefully we can start strong here, but it's just a sick track, really, really cool. It's a night race as well, so I'm excited."
