Lewis Hamilton has asserted he will sit down for talks with the Ferrari F1 team after the British Grand Prix to discuss elements of the car he has concerns with.
The seven-time champion, who is the most successful driver around the Silverstone Circuit, endured a difficult race in challenging conditions on Sunday.
Towards the end of the race, the Briton looked to be on course for a podium result as he caught the back of Nico Hulkenberg - however he could not get past the Stake driver and had to settle for fourth.
Prior to the finish, Hamilton was struggling to keep the car on the road and had a dramatic off moment when he emerged from the pit lane.
As he continues to navigate his first season in red, the 40-year-old highlighted his desire to see change in next year's Ferrari car.
“I just struggled to keep up,” Hamilton told media including RacingNews365. “The tyres dropped off massively. The car was unbelievably tricky to drive.
“I think ultimately, I learned a lot today. There's a lots to take from the day. It's only my second time driving in the wet in this car.
“I can't even express to you how hard it is. It's not a car that likes those conditions.
“Having lots of data to take on this, for me, I’ll sit down with the people who design in the car for next year because there are elements of this car that can’t go into the following year.”
By finishing fourth, it marks the first British Grand Prix since 2013 that Hamilton has failed to finish on the podium.
“It was not the result I was hoping for,” Hamilton added. “I got some points still.
“This is the most difficult car I've driven here in these conditions.”
