Lewis Hamilton has taken to social media ahead of this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix, stressing that everyone must "keep going, even when it's difficult."

The seven-time world champion heads into the first round since the F1 summer break hoping to turn around what has been a poor maiden campaign with Ferrari.

Hamilton is yet to finish on a Grand Prix podium for the Scuderia and labeled himself as "useless" to the media at the Hungarian GP.

It was a staggering comment from the 105-time race winner, who also insisted that Ferrari needed a new driver.

With the summer break having offered the 40-year-old an opportunity to rest and reflect, the general expectation is that he will enter the Dutch GP with a positive mindset.

Hamilton faces a crucial couple of rounds following the break, with the Italian Grand Prix following this weekend's trip to Zandvoort.

The Tifosi will expect a big performance from the Briton at Ferrari's home race, adding to the importance of a good result in the Netherlands to build momentum.

Before traveling to Zandvoort, Hamilton took to social media to reflect on the summer break, acknowledging that he must push on despite recent challenges.

Hamilton wrote on an Instagram post: "I’m always so grateful for this time, for the opportunity to rest and recharge. There’s a lot I’ve been meditating on.

"Every one of us is up against so much, both individually and globally. It’s so important that we embrace the light of truth and love and take care of ourselves so that we can better take care of others.

"We can’t look away. We have to keep going, even when it’s difficult."
