Lewis Hamilton failed to advance out of Q2 during qualifying in Azerbaijan, suffering another painful moment during his Ferrari career.
It marked the fifth time this season the seven-time champion has failed to partake in the top 10 shootout.
Hamilton entered the qualifying segment with hopes of fighting towards the front after showing promising pace on Friday.
The 40-year-old needed another lap to secure a spot in the top 10 as the clock ticked towards zero, but as he came along the start-finish straight, Hamilton peeled into the pit lane.
Hamilton is now due to start Sunday's race in 12th, alongside former team-mate Fernando Alonso.
