Gasly was joined by Gabriel Bortoleto, Nico Hulkenberg, Franco Colapinto, Carlos Sainz, and Alex Albon in being eliminated.

Bearman out in SQ1

In SQ1, Ollie Bearman suffered a late elimination after being bumped by Alex Albon's final lap of the session.

He was joined by team-mate Esteban Ocon in being eliminated, with Sergio Perez's Cadillac less than a tenth behind Ocon.

Valtteri Bottas joined his team-mate, as both Cadillacs once again out-qualified both Aston Martin's, with Fernando Alonso nudging ahead of Lance Stroll.
