Lewis Hamilton has stated he expects to be stronger in the second half of the F1 season following a positive opening period.
The seven-time champion currently sits second in the drivers' championship having enjoyed his most competitive stint in some time during his second season with Ferrari.
Despite only having one win to his name so far this year, Hamilton has finished inside the top six at every round so far, leaving him 50-points adrift of championship leader Kimi Antonelli.
Ferrari has brought consistent upgrades to its car to close down the gap to Mercedes in the opening phase, and effort that Hamilton has hailed.
“The first half [of the season], it has been amazing given we've been probably like three or four tenths down on the straights in pace and power for the first half of the season," Hamilton told media including RacingNews365.
"I know the guys are pushing hard to bring upgrades for that.
"We've been bringing upgrades weekend in, weekend out. We've got hopefully more to come in the second half, and we just keep on pushing.
"I think the second half will be stronger. Usually the second half [of the season] is a stronger period for me.
“So, as I said, I'll really take this time to reset and try and come back stronger, fitter and better mentally prepared.”
