Charles Leclerc has been summoned to see the F1 stewards in Brazil after swearing during the FIA press conference.

Leclerc was present in the press conference last Sunday in Mexico after ending the race in third place.

The Ferrari driver was discussing his late-race mistake that saw him lose position to Lando Norris at the final corner.

Describing his emotions at the time, Leclerc used an expletive before apologising and asserting he did not “want to join Max”.

Leclerc was referencing a community service punishment that Verstappen was issued for swearing during the FIA press conference in Singapore.

The Monegasque driver has now been called to the stewards in Sao Paulo to explain the situation.

The reason provided in the official FIA document was: "Alleged breach of Article 12.2.1.k of the International Sporting Code – Language during the Mexico FIA Post Race Press Conference."

He will have to report to the stewards at 17:45 local time.
