Leclerc shows Ferrari's pace in early hours of Day Three F1 testing

Ferrari didn't look too impressive during the first two days of F1 testing, but this morning, on what appears to be a qualifying run, the team gave us a glimpse of their true speed.

Charles Leclerc is the early pacesetter on Day Three of F1 pre-season testing in Bahrain. The Ferrari man set a benchmark time of 1:30.486 in the first 20 minutes of the season, in what is the first hint thus far of the team's true pace. Red Bull's Sergio Perez was a distant second, over four-tenths down on the Monegasque driver. George Russell has had to be patient so far in Bahrain, but the young Brit finally got his chance out on track the morning, getting 40 laps under his belt - the most of any driver. Mercedes have also enjoyed a much better morning, running well over 35 laps without incident in what appeared to be a race simulation. McLaren have had a quieter day by contrast, with Lando Norris completing the fewest laps of any driver in the first two hours. Alpine have looked strong once again with Esteban Ocon at the wheel, while Aston Martin avoided mechanical problems for the first morning session of F1 testing so far. We have also seen the likes of Mick Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, and Pierre Gasly take to the track so far in this session. Here's how things stand on the leaderboard with two hours remaining in session one.
