Lance Stroll will not take part in the second free practice session at the Hungarian Grand Prix, with Aston Martin unable to repair his AMR26 in time after his rear suspension failure in FP1.
During the first hour of running at the Hungaroring, the Canadian brought out a red flag when his rear left suspension suddenly let go, sending him into a spin on the approach to Turn 2.
The three-time podium finisher parked up on the outside of Turn 3, ultimately ending his involvement for the first day of track action in Budapest.
The Silverstone-based squad confirmed: "Unfortunately, Lance will not participate in FP2. There has not been enough time to repair the damage from FP1."
It is a big weekend for Aston Martin, having delivered a B-spec car after holding off upgrades for the first 10 rounds of the season.
The Lawrence Stroll-owned team has suffered through a dismal start to the campaign, with the first Adrian Newey-designed chassis underwhelming and the outfit's first Honda power unit drastically down on power compared with rival teams.
Sixteen updates, including the rear suspension, are hoped to have found around two seconds of lap time for the team, which should hopefully dramatically reduce its deficit to the top cars.
