Kimi Antonelli is "completely unharmed" after a traffic accident near his home in San Marino over the weekend, Mercedes F1 team has confirmed.
The young Italian was called 911 after the incident, and police arrived at the scene. However, the three-time F1 podium finisher was not injured.
His car, a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ "Motorsport Collector's Edition", did sustain damage, according to the Brackley-based team.
The team provided a statement: "We can confirm that Kimi was involved in a traffic accident on Saturday night close to his home in San Marino.
"The police attended the scene, after being called by Kimi. His was the only car involved and while his vehicle was damaged, Kimi was completely unhurt."
The 19-year-old will participate in the first official F1 pre-season test at Bahrain International Circuit, which runs from February 11-13.
