Kimi Antonelli has stated he is expecting “absolute carnage” when the F1 drivers take to the track for the LEGO race later this weekend.
As part of the traditional driver parade that is held at every event, this year's edition at the British Grand Prix will have a fresh twist as all drivers get behind the wheel of cars built out of LEGO.
While they did so one year ago at the Miami Grand Prix, on that occasion, it was one car per team rather than each competitor having their own entry.
That LEGO race has generated 7.4 million views on YouTube - more than the highlights package of the actual grand prix held shortly afterwards.
With double the cars involved this time around, Antonelli is expecting a fun show for the fans.
“I'm really looking forward to that,” Antonelli told media including RacingNews365.
“It's going to be absolute carnage, but that's the fun bit.
“They should let us drive. 22 drivers, 22 little go karts - absolute carnage. I think it's going to be good scenery for the coverage.
“It's going to be even better than Miami.”
Antonelli's excitement was shared by some of his fellow F1 drivers.
Valtteri Bottas, who did not take part in the 2025 outing due to not having a race seat, said: “I’m actually really excited because I missed it in Miami last year when I was watching it and it looked so fun.
“So I think the key will be, because everyone is capped to 25 kilometres per hour, saving distance is probably the key. I’m excited. So saving distance is my strategy, and using tow.”
Also experiencing a LEGO race for the first time is rookie Arvid Lindblad, who stated: “I was also very excited when I heard that we will be driving the LEGO cars.
“For me, I don’t think that race is going to be about winning. It’s just about having some fun and maximum damage.”
Reigning world champion Lando Norris added: “If it’s like Miami, of course, then I think whoever can make it back to the start line will be a winner already.
“So, I think it’s a cool thing to do. It’s different. It’s nice to, obviously when you’re all together and you can have a little chitchat and see the fans when you’re on the truck.
“It’s nice to do something different every now and then. So as long as it’s safe and we all behave, which we shall, then it will be a jolly good ride.”
