After experiencing success in India, Chandhok won the Formula 2000 Asia series, his first title of note before transitioning to Europe where he competed in the British Formula 3 series. His best result in British F3 would be third overall in the 2003 championship after taking 7 seven wins.

The Indian would then compete in a variety of championships, including the A1 Grand Prix series without any major success. A return to Asia would reignite his career as he would go on to win the Formula V6 Asia by Renault championship in 2006. Chandhok then competed in the GP2 Series and GP2 Asia Series. Though he would not finish any higher than 10th in his three years racing in GP2, he would win two races and finish on the podium on three further occasions.

Chandhok made his Formula 1 debut in 2010 at the season opener in Bahrain. He was on course to record his best result in F1 at the Monaco Grand Prix before being taken out by Jarno Trulli on the penultimate lap. Chandhok’s last race of the season would be at the British Grand Prix where he finished 19th.

The following year saw the Indian join Team Lotus as a reserve driver. He would make one final grand prix appearance at that season’s German Grand Prix where he would finish 20th. Chandhok would also compete in the 24 Hours of LeMans on five occasions with sixth overall being his best finishing position.

In conjunction with his racing career, Chandhok has also served as a media personality for various outlets covering Formula 1 such as the BBC, Channel Four, and more recently as a co-commentator and pitlane reporter for Sky.
