Jack Doohan has made an F1 paddock journey vow after retiring on the first lap of the Miami Grand Prix, following a collision with Liam Lawson.
Doohan attempted a move on Lawson at the first corner, who was also trying to make places at the very start of the race.
In the end, both drivers pursued for the same piece of tarmac, resulting in contact between Doohan's left-front tyre and Lawson's right-rear. Lawson span as a result.
Doohan sustained a puncture, with his car having also sustained significant damage, forcing him to pull off the track.
It was disappointing for Doohan, who has vowed to not make an early-race journey to the Miami paddock again.
"The damage by the puncture was quite a lot," Doohan told select media, including RacingNews365.
"It was also digging into, I don't even know what it's called, the front left gurney, or whatever is supposed to help us with the racing closer.
"And the damage was too much. We don't obviously want to put damage on the track or debris. It was quite the journey to get back here [to the paddock], so don't want to be repeating this one again."

Doohan reflection
The incident was noted by the stewards, although it was quickly decided that no further action was required.
Doohan was not frustrated by the decision, with him not wanting to pin the blame on himself, Lawson or anyone else.
"It's hard to say when you're in that position," added Doohan, when asked if he deserved more space. "Obviously, in the moment, yeah, you're disappointed and you're mad, but you never know.
"You could have had a car on his [Lawson's] outside, squeezing him. I don't want to put any blame in any direction. Obviously, it didn't end well for me, which is disappointing.
"I'll have to also reflect to see if there's anything that I could do differently. But in this current point, I don't think there was much."
