Free Practice 1 for the Italian Grand Prix has been red-flagged after Isack Hadjar deposited huge amounts of gravel on the track after a wide moment.
Hadjar dipped two wheels in the gravel through the chicane, leaving the track covered with the stones, and forcing race control to suspend the session to sweep the track for safety reasons.
The suspension came with Max Verstappen fastest for Red Bull, whilst Charles Leclerc briefly faced stewards' trouble for overtaking a Stake under the red flags.
He passed the slow car at high-speed, and could not react fast enough to avoid overtaking, although he did instantly jump on the brakes.
The session resumed with 16 minutes remaining.
