Is sticking with Red Bull good for Max Verstappen's future?

Following several months of intense speculation, Max Verstappen confirmed on Thursday in Hungary that he will remain at Red Bull next year.

Verstappen was heavily linked with a move away from the Milton Keynes-based squad in favour of Mercedes amid the introduction of new technical regulations.

A performance clause in his contract can no longer be activated, meaning the Dutchman cannot depart Red Bull at the end of the campaign.

Red Bull has slipped away in performance over the last 12 months, with rivals McLaren moving to the head of the pecking order.

Although Verstappen's position within the team is confirmed for next season, further speculation will likely arise once the 2026 pecking order becomes clear.
