F1 is to return to the Nurburgring next week in a two-day tyre test involving the Mercedes and McLaren teams. 

Pirelli runs on-track testing with teams across the season to gather real-world data to give direction into tyre development, although teams selected are effectively blind whilst they complete their running.

Max Verstappen warned of inner Red Bull threat

Max Verstappen has been warned that his oozing of "negativity" about F1's new technical regulations could allow Isack Hadjar to establish a stronghold at Red Bull. 

The four-time world champion has been fiercely critical of the new energy-management-dependent regulations, as Red Bull also struggles with its car, returning just 16 points from three races - its lowest yield since 13 points in 2015.

Charles Leclerc receives prestigious honour from Prince of Monaco

Charles Leclerc has been made a Monaco Goodwill Ambassador in a special ceremony by the Prince of Monaco.

Leclerc is one of just five drivers in F1 history to compete for Monaco, and has claimed all eight victories for the principality since making his debut in 2018 before being promoted to the Scuderia for 2019.

Fernando Alonso snubbed for special Pope honour

A proposal to allow Fernando Alonso to drive the Pope through Madrid was rejected 15 years ago, it has been revealed.

When Pope Benedict XVI arrived in Madrid for World Youth Day in August 2011, organisers had an unconventional suggestion for who should pilot the papal vehicle through the Spanish capital's streets.

Daniel Ricciardo reveals Max Verstappen 'obliteration' risk at Red Bull

Daniel Ricciardo has conceded that his decision to leave Red Bull is the biggest 'what if' moment of his F1 career, whilst also admitting there was a chance Max Verstappen would have "obliterated" him had he stayed.

The Australian driver, whose F1 tenure came to a close following his unceremonious axing from Racing Bulls after the Singapore Grand Prix in 2024, was team-mate to the four-time drivers' champion at the Milton Keynes-based squad before leaving for Renault.
