Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has detailed the size of the F1 regulation change that will come into effect next year.

The sport last went through a major rule change for the 2022 campaign when the aerodynamic regulations were dramatically altered.

F1's aero components will undergo another huge shift for 2026 while the power units will also change substantially.

The scale of the change is one of the biggest in F1 history, according to Horner.

“2026 is the biggest reset in probably the last 60 years of F1, where both powertrain and chassis are changing,” he told media including RacingNews365.

“But it's the same for everyone. There'll be winners and losers from that.

“First of all, 2025 is where the focus will be.”

The upcoming 2025 F1 campaign is poised to be hugely competitive as the teams converge several years into the regulation cycle.

Multiple teams won several races in 2024 - leading Horner to joke F1 has a habit of changing its rules when it gets close at the front of the field.

"Formula 1's very good at changing the rules just as things are getting spicy,” he laughed.
