FIA race steward Johnny Herbert has defended his right to express an opinion on F1, despite criticism from Jos Verstappen over a perceived conflict of interest.
Herbert was a member of the panel which awarded Jos's son Max 20 seconds worth of time penalties and two penalty points for incidents involving Lando Norris in the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Verstappen makes one demand over becoming four-time F1 champion
Max Verstappen may have basked in the glory of arguably the greatest victory of his F1 career, but there is one key demand he would like to see realised for this season over and above him becoming a four-time champion.
Verstappen became only the sixth driver in F1 history - a total of 1,122 grands prix - to take the chequered flag from 17th on the grid or lower, such was his phenomenal performance at Interlagos.

Alonso braced for setback after latest F1 health scare
Fernando Alonso is bracing himself for a setback in his recovery from health problems after a "nightmare" Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Alonso was late in arriving in Brazil after returning to Europe following the Mexico City GP for an intestinal infection and treatment from specialists, missing media day for the second straight week.

Hulkenberg makes unusual claim about F1 marshals after disqualification
Nico Hulkenberg has claimed that F1 marshals were "partying" after assisting his stricken Haas in the Sao Paulo GP, leading to his disqualification.
Hulkenberg became the first F1 driver to be disqualified in-race since Felipe Massa and Giancarlo Fisichella at the 2007 Canadian GP after marshals helped to free his Haas after it became stuck on a drain at Interlagos.

Latest 2024 F1 penalty point standings after Brazilian GP
Fernando Alonso and Max Verstappen continue to top F1's penalty point rankings after the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, with the world champion picking up a seventh point on his licence.
Verstappen was one of three drivers to pick up penalty points in Sao Paulo, with the Red Bull driver picking up the sanction as a result of dropping under the virtual safety car time delta in the sprint race as he tried to attack Oscar Piastri.
