It has proven to be one of the biggest talking points of the season so far.
Max Verstappen's decision to turn in on George Russell on Lap 64 of the 66-lap Spanish Grand Prix only earned the four-time F1 champion a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision.
Russell described the incident as "dangerous" and suggested that Verstappen's actions were not a good reflection on the sport for young kids watching and aspiring to follow in the Red Bull driver's footsteps.
Nico Rosberg, the 2016 F1 champion, went so far as to suggest that Verstappen should have been black-flagged, which represents an instant disqualification.
Even Red Bull's advisor Helmut Marko, a close ally of Verstappen, was left wondering what was going through his driver's head
Whilst the eventual penalty was seen as lenient by many, the fact that the stewards added three penalty points to his licence means Verstappen is one away from a race ban. Another incident in either of the next two races in Canada or Austria will see him banned.
Verstappen initially said the incident was a misjudgment on his part, before conceding the day after in a statement that his actions were "not right and shouldn't have happened".
