MotoGP, meet Guenther Steiner. Red Bull KTM Tech3 is set to enter a new era as a consortium headed by the motorsport leader will acquire full ownership of the MotoGP team, including Moto3™. The new structure is set to take full effect from 2026.

Guenther Steiner has completed his takeover of the Red Bull KTM Tech3 MotoGP team.

Daniel Ricciardo has announced his official retirement from motorsport, following a statement confirming that he has joined Ford Racing as a global ambassador. 

Ricciardo's last motorsport appearance was the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix, the final F1 race he entered before being replaced by Liam Lawson.

2025 F1 Italian Grand Prix - Monza Free Practice 1 results

Lewis Hamilton made a perfect start to his first Italian Grand Prix as a Ferrari driver by going quickest in first practice. 

The seven-time world champion topped the timesheets after setting a 1m 20.117, heading an impressive Ferrari one-two in front of the Tifosi.

McLaren driver Lando Norris went fastest in the second free practice session at the Italian Grand Prix, setting a 1:19.878 lap time.

Charles Leclerc was less than a tenth adrift in second, whilst Carlos Sainz completed the top three at Monza.

Oscar Piastri discovers FIA investigation verdict after practice mistake

Oscar Piastri has not been punished by the stewards at the Italian Grand Prix after he was investigated for entering the fast lane in the pits too soon during FP2. McLaren was reprimanded for the incident.

Following Kimi Antonelli's red flag stoppage, the Australian entered the fast lane in the pits before the restart of the session had been confirmed, something that is directly at odds with the race director's event notes.

Lando Norris puts McLaren on Monza alert with 'one second' joke

Lando Norris light-heartedly mused that McLaren is usually one second ahead of the competition at this stage of an F1 weekend, after an unusually close Friday at Monza.

The British driver finished the first free practice session at the Italian Grand Prix down in a relatively lowly sixth place, whilst team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri sat out the hour for Alex Dunne.
