George Russell suffered a scary crash at the end of the first lap of the Singapore Sprint, which was delayed by 30 minutes due to torrential rain.
The Mercedes driver made an excellent start from second to take the lead from Max Verstappen into the first corner, giving him ideal track position in wet conditions.
However, the Briton got on the power too early at the final corner on the opening lap but also touched the white line, causing a scary spin.
Russell spun across the circuit and hit the pit wall, before his Mercedes rolled back across the Marina Bay circuit.
Thankfully, Russell's car was avoided by the remaining 21 cars, in what could have become a horrific accident.
It handed the lead back to Verstappen, with Lewis Hamilton in second, while behind Lance Stroll and Sergio Perez made contact which will be investigated after the sprint.
Stroll and Perez exited the race as a result of the collision, with Isack Hadjar and Franco Colapinto both also retiring after pulling off the circuit.
Also during the safety car period following Russell's crash, Arvid Lindblad spun and drove the wrong way, triggering him to also be investigated after the race.
