A further, positive health update has been issued for Moto3 rider Noah Dettwiler following the horror accident on the formation lap in Malaysia.

Dettwiler's bike was suffering from mechanical problems and had slowed on the racing line, but was rammed by the unsighted champion Jose Antonio Rueda, with both bikes being destroyed and the riders laying injured amongst the debris.

After lengthy medical treatment, both were air-lifted to hospital, with Rueda's condition quickly known as non-life threatening, with a fractured hand and severe concussion.

However, German outlet Blick spoke to Dettwiler's father, who reported that his son had suffered "multiple cardiac arrests, and had lost a lot of blood" with other injuries including to his spleen, lungs and an "open fracture in his leg."

After undergoing surgery, the day after the accident, a further positive update has been delivered on Dettwiler's condition from his CIP Green Power Team.

His condition is described as "critical, but stable" after multiple surgeries, with the team also asking for the privacy of him and his family to be respected.
