Charles Leclerc starts Sunday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix from pole position for the fourth consecutive year.
The Ferrari driver beat Oscar Piastri to the top spot by three-tenths of a second, with the Australian forced to settle for second on the grid.
A series of stewards' summons took place after qualifying, and while George Russell and Alex Albon went unpunished in terms of grid penalties, Pierre Gasly was not so lucky.
A fuel infringement for the Alpine drive saw him disqualified from the session, dropping him to 18th and last on the grid.
Gasly's DSQ was good news for Lando Norris who was initially boosted one position to 16th following his disastrous qualifying result on Saturday.
Norris has now risen an additional position as Lewis Hamilton will start the grand prix from the pit lane, along with Alpine's Esteban Ocon after both drivers took new power units.
