Franco Colapinto has conceded that "talks" are taking place over his Alpine future, but that he is "not concerned" that he could be dropped.

The Argentine driver was drafted in to replace Jack Doohan after the Miami GP, with acting Alpine boss Flavio Briatore giving Colapinto three major instructions to 'be fast, don't crash, and score points.'

Across his six races up until the British GP, Colapinto has only out-qualified Pierre Gasly in Canada, crashed multiple times and has no points.

At Silverstone, he crashed out in qualifying, before posting a DNS in the race after, according to RacingNews365's sources, burning out the clutch during his formation lap pit-stop.

Rumours that Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Perez, or even Doohan could replace Colapinto during the break between Britain and Belgium have intensified, but Colapinto is determined to continue to try and improve his situation.

'I'm not very concerned," Colapinto began when asked by RacingNews365 if there was any doubt he'd be in the Alpine for the Belgian GP.

"Of course, there are always talks and rumours, but I just need to keep working and trying to help the team to improve the car.

"We made some good steps [at Silvestone], but it is definitely not what we want."
