A fire incident has disrupted pre-season testing for Formula E taking place at Valencia this week.

The championship confirmed over a post on social media that a fire had taken place in the pit lane, and that it was working with local authorities to contain it.

The fire appears to have taken place at the back of the garages, with black smoke seen near the media centre. The section has now been cordoned off as authorities deal with the situation.

No casualties have been reported with the building also having been evacuated, however testing has been suspended.

It is the first day of pre-season testing for the 2023/24 season, with further test days scheduled for Wednesday and Friday.
