Antonio Giovinazzi got back behind the wheel of an F1 car this week, testing for Ferrari at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The Italian, who lost his then-Alfa Romeo Sauber seat at the end of 2021, has been a reserve driver in F1 since. First for Haas, in 2022, and for Ferrari over the past couple of years.
He has dovetailed his role with driving for the Italian team's Hypercar programme, which saw him win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023.
The 31-year-old drove the SF-23 at the current home of the Spanish Grand Prix, following Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc's test earlier in the week.
After the former crashed, in only his second outing in a Ferrari, the latter was unable to complete any of his running.
However, the car was evidently fixed in time for Giovinazzi to get some time in the car his belt ahead of the new season, which he shared on social media (below).
Ferrari academy member Dino Beganovic is believed to also have completed some laps, his first in an F1 car, but that is as yet unconfirmed.
