Mohammed Ben Sulayem's chances of being re-elected for a second term as president of the FIA have received a huge boost after he received the backing of various FIA members from across the Americas.
According to documents seen by RacingNews365, a total of 37 figures from national motor sport clubs across the Americas have signed a letter to "strongly encourage" Ben Sulayem to seek re-election to a second term, given "four years is a short time to complete the ambitious reforms you have initiated."

Max Verstappen is closing in on triggering a performance clause in his Red Bull contract, which would block him from leaving at the end of this year.

McLaren reveal 'unnatural' concern ahead of Spanish GP challenge
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has highlighted how the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, home of the Spanish Grand Prix, does not suit the Woking squad's car.
The Italian explained how the high-speed layout of the track does not "naturally suit the characteristics of the MCL39", something he believes will set up rival F1 teams to challenge the McLaren's dominance there.

Max Verstappen ruled out of the F1 title fight with 'fantastic' outcome explained
Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner does not believe Max Verstappen can battle for the F1 drivers' championship this season.
It is a situation the Italian feels could, however, lead to a "fantastic" outcome, as McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown will be more inclined to let Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris race each other in pursuit of title glory.
