Ferrari is hoping its F1 fortunes will take a boost as it is reportedly set to introduce a major upgrade package in Bahrain.

The Italian squad endured a difficult opening round to the season in Australia before it received a lift in China when Lewis Hamilton won the sprint race.

Hamilton then finished sixth in the grand prix, one position behind team-mate Charles Leclerc - however both drivers were disqualified for technical infringements.

It has left Ferrari sitting fifth in the constructors' championship, level on points with Williams who has enjoyed a surprisingly strong start.

Ferrari entered the campaign hoping to challenge for the F1 title, but after two difficult races to start the year, it is important for the team to change its fortunes soon.

Corriere dello Sera now reports the Italian squad is bringing a major update package to the Bahrain Grand Prix, the fourth race weekend of the season.

This is reported to include a new floor that aims to provide better performance. The SF-25 challenger is seemingly very efficient, but the rear end is said to be too stiff.

The new floor would not simply solve that problem, but it should ensure that Ferrari's strengths are augmented.

Ferrari has been performing inconsistently within the current regulations for more than a year.

It started strong in 2024 until an incorrect update package in Spain threw a spanner in the works.

Toward the summer break, that setback was reversed, but Ferrari could not continue the good trend so far in 2025 - but perhaps the update package in Bahrain will be a step in the right direction.
