The #50 Ferrari hypercar has been forced to retire from the Le Mans 24 Hours on Sunday morning due to a hybrid systems failure.

Under a long safety car period following an LMGT3 car crashing into the barrier and this needed to be repaired, the race was neutralised, before Miguel Molina ground to a halt, just before the Tertre Rouge flick onto the Mulsanne.

Despite being instructions on how to power cycle the car and get it moving again, Molina was unable to do so, with marshals pushing the stricken machine to an opening and off the track.

It leaves the #83 AF Corse Ferrari and the works #51 machine in the running, with the two in fifth and sixth place.

The lead is currently held by the #20 BMW, from the #12 Cadillac, and the #7 and #8 Toyotas, although the #8 has been suffering from brake issues in the morning, including a rotor change.
