Fernando Alonso has taken delivery of a spectacular new Aston Martin DBX S, adding yet another high-performance machine from the British marque to his impressive collection.
The two-time F1 drivers' champion collected the £210,000+ performance SUV in Monaco just days before Christmas, posing alongside the Ultramarine Black machine outside Aston Martin's Monaco dealership. For most, such a delivery would constitute the ultimate festive gift.
"A festive Christmas to remember for @fernandoalo_oficial, as we just had the pleasure of delivering him his brand new Aston Martin DBX S," read the dealership's social media post. "All the Aston Martin Monaco team wishes you a merry Christmas and a happy holiday season!"
Alonso's response was characteristically understated: "Outstanding."
The timing of this acquisition comes after what proved to be another testing campaign for the 44-year-old Spaniard and Aston Martin in 2025.
Despite the team's significant investment and ambitious project, the AMR25 struggled to maintain its hold on fifth in the constructors' standings, slipping to seventh, behind Williams and Racing Bulls.
Alonso's experience and racecraft remained undiminished, extracting maximum performance from machinery that often flattered to deceive. His ability to deliver points-scoring drives when the car showed pace highlighted why Aston Martin secured his services through the current cycle.
The DBX S, powered by a 727bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 sourced from Mercedes, represents the pinnacle of Aston Martin's SUV range. Capable of 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds thanks to its lighter chassis and nine-speed transmission, it joins an enviable collection that includes an Aston Martin Valiant and Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR.
With significant regulation changes looming for 2026, both Alonso and Aston Martin will be hoping the new DBX S proves a fitting celebration of better times ahead.
The team's new works partnership with Honda, which begins with the 2026 F1 season, aims to deliver the power unit performance needed to compete at the highest level.
This strategic alliance, combined with Adrian Newey's technical expertise, positions Aston Martin for a potentially transformative period as it aims to challenge for championships.
