Fernando Alonso has voiced support for Felipe Drugovich and hopes to see the Brazilian race full-time during the 2026 F1 season. Drugovich won the Formula 2 championship in 2022 and became Aston Martin's reserve driver - a role that has seen him handed a series of free practice and test outings with the team. However, Drugovich is yet to make his grand prix debut and has been linked with one of the seats at Cadillac next year. Alonso highlighted the 25-year-old's F2 title, which was won with the second-highest margin to second place in the category's history, as an example of his impressive speed. "It would be great to see him in F1,” Alonso told media including RacingNews365 . “He has an incredible talent, Formula 2 was a demonstration.” However, Alonso asserted his experience working alongside Drugovich at Aston Martin further strengthens his belief that he deserves a spot on the grid. “We can see it here every day when we work with him,” Alonso said. "The simulator work, some of the free practices that he has. “He has been always delivering the performance that the team was asking, even with very limited kilometres. “It would be interesting to see him in a full-time drive and I hope it happens."
