Who is Felix Rosenqvist?
Sweden's Felix Rosenqvist was born on 7 November 1991. His racing career started in Formula Renault when he was seventeen years old. He got off to a flying start and immediately won three championship titles: Formula Renault 2.0 NEZ, Formula Renault 2.0 Sweden and Formula Asia 2.0. Two years later, he competed in German Formula 3, where he had a successful season. Among other things, he took two victories. In Formula 3, he is one of the most successful drivers ever. In 2015, he took the European Formula 3 world championship title, among others.
Before entering the IndyCar Series, he first went into Formula E, where he was able to achieve three victories. Eventually, he also finished third in the championship. In 2019, he made the switch to the IndyCar series and was on the grid for Chip Ganassi Racing, where he impressed. Among other things, he received the Rookie of the Year award.
Two years later, he made the switch to another team, Arrow McLaren, for which he is still driving in 2023. Here he has some more difficult seasons. In 2021 he finished 21st and in 2022 he took eighth place. How will Felix Rosenqvist fare in the 2023 season?
2023 Indy 500 Felix Rosenqvist
Felix Rosenqvist will start from 3rd place at the Indy 500 on Sunday 28 May 2023. He was fastest during the first qualifying session and set the third-fasted qualifying run in Indy 500 history with his lap. Only Arie Luyendyk and Scott Dixon beat him. Unfortunately, he did not manage to cash in and qualified third for Sunday's race. Alex Palou will start on pole position for this race, followed by Rinus Veekay in position two.
