Ferrari F1 team principal | Frederic Vasseur

In 2014, Vasseur's leadership drew the Formula 1 paddock's notice, resulting in his selection as the team principal of the Renault Sport Formula One Team. Guiding the team through substantial restructuring, rebranding, and development, he established the groundwork for a formidable comeback.

Frederic Vasseur took on the role of team principal at Ferrari ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 season, succeeding Mattia Binotto, who had overseen the Scuderia's engineering endeavors since the start of the 2019 season. Before joining Ferrari, Vasseur served as the team principal and CEO of Motorsports at Sauber.

In 2015, Andrea Stella transitioned from Ferrari to McLaren. By the conclusion of 2022, he had ascended to the role of team principal at McLaren, succeeding the former team principal Andreas Seidl. Currently, he holds the position of team principal at Alfa Romeo. The beginning of the season posed challenges for the McLaren team, but after several Grands Prix, they staged a remarkable comeback.

Initially, it appeared that their main competitor, Aston Martin, would outperform them in the constructors' championship. However, with this comeback, an exciting battle for the fourth position in the constructors' championship now awaits. In 2025, McLaren, led by Andreas Stella, won the Constructors' Championship. This was their first Constructors' Championship since 1998.

Red Bull F1 team principal | Christian Horner

Horner's triumphant run with Arden, marked by three consecutive Formula 3000 titles from 2000 to 2002, captured the interest of Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz. This attention eventually resulted in an offer from Red Bull for Horner to assume the role of Team Principal as the team made its debut in the Formula 1 season of 2005.

Following Mercedes' eight consecutive Constructors' championships, Red Bull Racing reclaimed the title in 2022. This came a year after Verstappen narrowly secured his first Drivers' title, edging out Lewis Hamilton.

Mercedes F1 team principal | Toto Wolff

In 2013, Mercedes revealed Wolff's appointment as the new team director for the Silver Arrows, bringing with him a 30% stake in the GP operation. This strategic move played a pivotal role in shaping the most successful team in the sport over the last decade.

Following this, he assumed responsibility for the overall motorsport operations of the German manufacturer. Under his leadership, Mercedes achieved an unprecedented eight consecutive Constructors' and Drivers' Championships in Formula 1, with Lewis Hamilton behind the wheel. Wolff, at the conclusion of 2023, inked a contract to extend his association with the manufacturer for an additional three years as team principal of Mercedes.

In September 2018, Mekies left the FIA to become the Sporting Director at Scuderia Ferrari. Commencing in 2019, he expanded his role to include the position of Head of Track & Performance Area, alongside his existing responsibilities. From 2021 onwards, Mekies has served as the Racing Director and Head of Track & Performance Area for the Italian team.

In April 2023, it was disclosed that Mekies would make a comeback to his former team, Visa Cash App RB (formerly Toro Rosso), commencing in 2024. As a component of a restructuring, Visa Cash App RB enlisted the expertise of the distinguished French Formula 1 personality. James Vowles played a pivotal role in Mercedes' unparalleled Formula One success from 2014 to 2021. During this period, the team secured eight consecutive constructors' titles and seven drivers' titles with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. Elevated from Chief Strategist to Motorsport Strategy Director in 2019, Vowles took charge of supervising the racing strategy, performance analysis, and simulation departments. Renowned for his communication via radio with drivers during races, he frequently offered essential information and guidance.

In January 2023, Vowles revealed his departure from Mercedes to take on the role of team principal at Williams Racing. This move followed the resignation of Jost Capito in December 2022. As of the 2025 season, James Vowles continues to serve as the F1 team principal for Williams Racing.

Alpine F1 team principal | Oliver Oakes

Alpine has announced the appointment of Oliver Oakes as its new Team Principal, effective after the summer break of 2024. Oakes, the founder of the successful Hitech Grand Prix team, succeeds Bruno Famin in the role.

At 36 years old, Oakes becomes one of the youngest Team Principals in Formula 1 history. He brings a wealth of experience from the junior motorsport ranks, having guided Hitech GP to numerous championships in series like Formula 2 and Formula 3.

Oakes will report directly to Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo. He will lead the team into the 2025 season with Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan as drivers.

Stake F1 team representative | Jonathan Wheatley

Following Alunni Bravi's departure, the short-term leadership structure at Stake F1 Team remains uncertain. Jonathan Wheatley, the incoming CEO, is still serving a gardening leave period after his departure from Red Bull Racing. This leaves a leadership void until his April arrival.

Mattia Binotto, the team's Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technical Officer, is expected to assume a more prominent role in team management during this transitional period.

Aston Martin F1 team principal | Andy Cowell

Aston Martin announced a restructuring of its leadership team. Andy Cowell, who joined the team as CEO in October 2024, will now assume the additional role of Team Principal. This move aims to empower Cowell with greater authority and responsibility for the team's on-track performance.

So Andy Cowell will be the team principal for Aston Martin in 2025 with the driver line-up of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

During the 2011 season, the Japanese professional served as a race engineer for Vitaly Petrov, followed by collaborating with Romain Grosjean the next year. Komatsu's career progressed, leading to his promotion to chief race engineer in 2015.

However, a year later, both he and Grosjean joined Haas. Komatsu spent eight years at Haas, initially as the trackside engineering director, until his elevation to the position of team principal for Haas F1 Team in 2024. After working alongside Guenther Steiner for several years, the Japanese professional has now taken over the position formerly held by the Italian.
