The post-season test at the Yas Marina Circuit was brought to a stop for several minutes on Tuesday morning following a crash for Ryo Hirakawa.
The Japanese driver was behind the wheel of the Haas VF-25, carrying out duties as part of the young drivers' test in Abu Dhabi.
Hirakawa spun at Turn 1 and lodged his Haas into the barriers, forcing him to climb out of the car and return to the pit lane.
The session was stopped for over 15 minutes while the stricken Haas car was cleared, before the action got back underway.
At the time of the crash, Hirakawa's best lap time was a 1:27.643 - leaving him 18th in the order ahead of only team-mate Oliver Bearman and Aston Martin's Stoffel Vandoorne.
Hirakawa, a Le Mans and Super GT champion, has had several outings with Haas this year as part of its association with Toyota Gazoo Racing.
The 31-year-old had four FP1 appearances across the season with Haas, and one further outing with Alpine in Suzuka.
