Eduardo Barrichello, the son of former F1 driver Rubens, is set to make his full World Endurance Championship (WEC) debut next year.
The Brazilian driver has signed a deal to join Racing Spirit of Léman’s, Aston Martin's customer team in the LMGT3 class.
For the past two years, Barrichello competed in the Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series, racing for Mobil Ale Full Time.
This year, he finished third in the drivers' standings, whilst three victories were claimed across the past two seasons.
He is the final driver to be confirmed for Aston Martin's customer team next season, with the 23-year-old to partner Derek Deboer and Valentin Hasse Clot.
Barrichello will be driving the team’s No. 10 Vantage AMR LMGT3 EVO, with the outfit targeting a debut title pursuit.
His father, Rubens, famously partnered seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher at Ferrari from 2000-2005.
The 52-year-old made his F1 debut for Jordan in 1993, before retiring at the end of 2011 season at Williams.
During his F1 career which was spent at Jordan, Stewart , Ferrari, Honda, Brawn GP and Williams, the former F1 driver picked up 11 victories and started 322 races.
