The Goodwood Festival of Speed is set to feature a record-breaking 80 F1 cars at the forthcoming event, as the championship turns 75.
The first-ever world championship grand prix was held on May 13th, 1950 at Silverstone, with Giuseppe Farina winning the British Grand Prix for Alfa Romeo, as, some 1,124 races later, Lando Norris won the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for McLaren.
As part of the celebration events, more than half of the cars on display at Goodwood across the 10th-13th July, will be F1 machinery.
The likes of Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Sebastian Vettel have all driven up the hill in the past, as the upcoming event is set to feature six distinct categories.
They are Prologue, Pioneers, Innovators, Champions, Underdogs, and Current F1 Teams, with each taking in a different era of racing, including even pre-world championship machinery back to the mid-1920s.
