The developing feud between Jos Verstappen and Christian Horner looked to be the most controversial talking point of F1's most recent trip to the Red Bull Ring.

However, the Dutch ex-F1 driver's son, Max, would ultimately produce the defining moment of not only the Austrian Grand Prix, but of the entire season thus far.

Whilst that will receive the bulk of the column inches heading into the British Grand Prix, the disharmony between Verstappen Sr. and Horner cannot - and should not - be understated.

The catalyst was the Dutchman accusing the Red Bull team principal of moving to block his participation in the Parade of Legends event in Austria - something Horner denies.

It snowballed from there, with suggestions of compromised brakes on the 2012 RB08 Jos was meant to run in the showcase and assertions that Max may still leave Red Bull, despite the driver himself confirming he will drive for the team next season.

It is a feud that puts the 26-year-old in a difficult spot, torn between father and boss. In turn, F1 fans themselves are torn over what the downstream implications of Horner and Jos Verstappen's most recent spat might be.

Just over half of 4,238 respondents in a recent RacingNews365 poll felt is would trigger Max's exit from the team. Whether he decided to go anyway is a whole other matter.
