F1 fans are almost exactly evenly split over whether Franco Colapinto deserves a new contract with Alpine for 2027.
The Argentine driver has enjoyed a fruitful 2026 season thus far, with points finishes in five of the nine grands prix to date, including a career-best sixth in Canada, and has 18 of a resurgent Alpine's 60 points.
Colapinto only has a one-year contract with the team, with boss Steve Nielsen saying over the Silverstone weekend, where Colapinto took ninth place ahead of Pierre Gasly in 10th, saying that he was in the seat "on merit" and would keep it if performances were good enough.
When the question of Colapinto earning a new deal for 2027 was put to F1 fans in a RacingNews365 poll, the result was almost evenly split down the middle, with less than one percentage point between the two options.
Check out the results below!
