Biography Daniil Kvyat
Daniil Kvyat is a product of Red Bull Driver Programme and, after capturing the 2013 GP3 crown, made his 2014 appearance in Formula 1. The Russian came out nicely and scores a few points immediately in his first appearances, but he rarely really excelled. Because Sebastian Vettel left Red Bull Racing and Kvyat was the only logical replacement for the German, he was allowed to be promoted for 2015.
That promotion turned out to be premature. OK, Kvyat got two podium finishes in just under a year and a half, but he also caused overtime in the garage. When Max Verstappen was pushed by his management to a spot at Red Bull Racing, Kvyat was given the dishonorable task of reinstating his old place at Toro Rosso. In 2016 and '17, things got from bad to worse, and the Russian no longer was showed elements of the dominant driver he was in youth categories. A year in the shadows as a test driver for Ferrari did Kvyat good, and for 2019 he got a third chance at Toro Rosso, where his performance has been mixed, but he did manage to bring in the second podium finish ever for the Toro Rosso team.
In 2020, at Alpha Tauri, the new name of the former Toro Rosso, Kvyat paired up with Pierre Gasly. In 2021, Kvyat got replaced by Yuki Tsunoda.
