Reigning F1 Academy champion and Mercedes development driver Doriane Pin has confirmed that she will make her debut in F1 machinery today.
Mercedes teased on social media late on Friday evening that something was set to happen, with it now being known that Pin will be driving at Silverstone.
Across Saturday, Pin will drive Mercedes' W12 from the 2021 season, in what will represent the 22-year-old's first taste of an F1 car.
The test will see Pin become the first female driver to test a Mercedes F1 car, in what will be a TPC test (Testing of Previous Cars).
Pin joined Mercedes in 2024 and received backing from the team during her two seasons in F1 Academy, before becoming an official development driver.
It has seen Pin involved in simulator sessions, while her development has created the opportunity for an actual F1 test.
