It has caused widespread debate.

The Australian Grand Prix that raised the curtain on the 2026 campaign was contentious for many reasons, leading to the drivers, primarily, raising their objections, and a variety of views from the fans on what they were witnessing.

F1's decision to introduce a 50-50 power split between combustion and electrical energy led to the power units being starved of energy around Melbourne's Albert Park, and a style of racing that was alien in the eyes of many, leading to artificial overtakes.

It was, however, only a sample of one, and at a circuit very high on the list of the 24 on the calendar for this season for energy management, leading to the issues the drivers encountered with management and deployment, not only during the grand prix itself, but also over a qualifying lap.

On that basis, have your say in our latest poll below, and please do leave a comment. We will publish your thoughts in our results review later this week.
