Carlos Sainz is to sit out his media duties ahead of this weekend's São Paulo Grand Prix due to him feeling unwell.
The Williams driver was scheduled to speak with the written and broadcast media at Interlagos to preview the next few days, which features a sprint as well as the main event on Sunday.
The Williams team, however, has confirmed that Sainz will not be at the track, and will instead rest at the team's hotel in the hope he will be fit to compete this weekend.
A Williams spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, Carlos is unwell and will not be coming to the track today, so all mandatory media slots will be cancelled. Apologies for any inconvenience."
Last year, the Spanish driver was forced to sit out the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after contracting appendicitis the day after taking part in the Friday practice sessions for Ferrari.
This resulted in Haas driver Oliver Bearman, then working as reserve driver for the Scuderia, stepping into the hot seat and scoring a superb seventh place on his F1 debut.
