McLaren CEO Zak Brown has revealed that he is "nervous" that the Woking-based team's advantage could be cut by Red Bull.

The British outfit sits at the top of the F1 constructors' championship ahead of the United States Grand Prix on Sunday, at the Circuit of the Americas, some 39 points clear of Red Bull.

McLaren has been on an impressive run, with the team having won three of the past four races since the end of the summer break.

Lando Norris is also in a fight with Max Verstappen for the drivers' title, although the Dutchman has a commanding lead over the Briton of 54 points, after extending it with victory in the Austin sprint.

Since the summer break, McLaren has become the team to beat, courtesy of the MCL38 working at every type of circuit.

However, when asked if the outfit are enjoying its run, Brown revealed that he has a mindset which looks back at the competition.

"I think it's probably a mix of both, depending on people's personalities," Brown told media including RacingNews365.

"Mine, in particular, is one that's always looking in the rearview mirror a bit nervous, and then there are other people in life that it's the thrill, the pursuit of victory that gets them motivated.

"So it's probably a healthy dose of a combination of both that get everyone out of bed every day, highly motivated to continue to just make these small incremental gains."
